Doobie's

2201 Lombard St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tel. 215.546.0316
Ah yes, another Rittenhouse Square dive bar. But this may be the only dive around Philadelphia with an excellent pub-grub menu that also features vegan cuisine. This is the kind of bar that oozes smoke from the dark, wood-paneled walls even though smoking is no longer allowed. Bring some friends and a deck of cards, order pitchers and spend the night relaxing in one of Doobie's comfortable booths. The jukebox is known for having a large selection of diverse tunes that regulars enjoy playing. This Philly dive is a favorite among locals to watch the game or unwind after work.

Drinker's Pub

1903 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tel. 215.564.0914
Neon signs, pinball machines and 40s of the High Life—what else could be expected of a place called Drinker's Pub near Philly's Rittenhouse Square? This popular dive bar caters to drinkers, but not of the sophisticated sort. Mostly students and twenty-somethings populate the place. Some specials include $2 draft and $5 pitchers of Bud Light, $3 Finlandia vodka drinks and $3 Jack Daniel's shots. This may not be the classiest establishment, but for those who want to get drunk on a budget, Drinker's Pub may be the best Philadelphia dive bar to do it in.

Eulogy Belgian Tavern

136 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tel. 215.413.1918
Eulogy Belgian Tavern, located in Philadelphia's Old City, has been popular among beer fanatics since its opening. Eulogy is actually Belgian owned and offers 300 different bottled beers and over 20 on tap. For the true connoisseur, Philadelphia's Eulogy Belgian Tavern is hard to beat. Tasty pub-grub with Belgian influences is served, including Beneluxx Belgian frietjes and Waterzooi chicken. Or combine the beer with your meal and try bratwurst boiled in Stella Artois. A lively after-work crowd keep Eulogy an exciting addition to the City of Brotherly Love.

Good Dog Bar and Restaurant

224 S. 15th St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tel. 215.985.9600
Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square has a smattering of bars, but few have the personality of Good Dog Bar and Restaurant. Photos of dogs decorate the walls and the interior has a homey feel with beautiful deep-wood accents. Good Dog features local brews and gourmet food, including what many locals consider is the best burger in Philly. Upstairs has a pool table, internet jukebox and several arcade games. The list of beers on tap includes Philadelphia Pale Ale, Hoegaarden, Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Stoudt's Scarlet Lady—not the usual transparent brews that are found at many area bars. Relaxing in a true neighborhood bar is easy at Good Dog Bar and Restaurant.

Southwark Restaurant

701 S. 4th St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tel. 215.238.1888
The beautiful dark wood interior, long bar and quiet ambiance make Philadelphia's Southwark Restaurant an ideal place to meet for drinks and enjoy engaging conversation. Delicious French-influenced cuisine is a staple at Southwark. Grilled pheasant, wild mushroom risotto and steamed clams are favorites here. A wide variety of beer, wine and cocktails will compliment any meal. During the warmer months, Southwark opens up outdoor dining which is reminiscent of eating in a quaint European alley. For a classy Philly experience, don't pass up Southwark Restaurant.
